15. Tiefbaufachtagung in Radebeul

In February 2026, our institute took part in the 15th Civil Engineering Conference in Radebeul near Dresden (Germany), a specialist conference focusing on current developments in railway geotechnics and subgrade construction. The event brought together experts from academia, infrastructure management, engineering firms and industry to discuss new regulations, environmental considerations and construction methods.
The conference programme covered many topics relevant to our research. Of particular interest were presentations on the long-term performance of high-speed rail lines on improved subgrades, current perspectives from the German Federal Railway Authority, and the revision of Eurocode 7. These presentations provided helpful insights into the practical planning, assessment and maintenance of railway subgrades.
In addition to the presentations on geotechnical and subgrade-related topics, the conference also featured a series of papers on other areas of railway infrastructure construction. These covered topics such as pipe jacking, rehabilitation measures and planning subject to environmental constraints.
