On Thursday, June 26, Stefan Marschnig gave his inaugural lecture at the Institute of Railway Engineering and Transport Economics. The event began with a ceremonial welcome by Vice Rector Andrea Höglinger and Dean Martin Schanz, who presented the new chair holder’s professional career and areas of expertise.
In his lecture entitled “The challenges of a successful railway – and what infrastructure can contribute,” Stefan Marschnig highlighted key issues relating to the performance and sustainability of rail transport. The topics were visualized and creatively accompanied live by illustrator Alexander Czernin – a special highlight that brought the content to life in a vivid way.
Afterwards, colleagues got together for a get-together and took the opportunity to exchange professional and personal ideas.
We would like to thank everyone involved for a successful event and wish Stefan Marschnig every success in his future tasks at the institute.
