Dieter has been working at EBW since October 2020, initially as a student assistant and, after completing his mechanical engineering studies in May 2023, as a research assistant. His research focuses primarily on vehicle-track interaction, track wear models and rail damage mechanisms. The latter is also the topic of his doctoral thesis. His teaching activities naturally include vehicles, but also (co-)supervising students with projects and final theses.
