Jochen worked at the institute for some months in 2004 and then from 2006 to 2009 as PhD researcher. His thesis on „Predicting the quality behavior of tracks – analysis of track behavior on a single cross-section“ was done in a tandem with Robert Hummitzsch and was finished in 2009. Jochen joined SBB to set up a strategic track asset management unit and moved on to voestalpine Railway Systems some years later where is now responsible for rail fastening systems and sleepers.
